Education description

Visualizations are essential for scientific communication however, creating effective and meaningful figures can be challenging. The Pretty Plots workshop provides participants with the basic theoretical background needed to design and create impactful data visualizations using R. Different data types covered in this course include but are not limited to assay data (e.g. viability, proliferation, etc.), sequencing data (e.g. RNA-seq), microarray data (e.g. DNA methylation) or clinical cohort data. With an adjustable teaching approach, the workshop benefits both beginners and more experienced R users. The workshop is primarily targeted for doctoral researchers, but more senior researchers are also welcome, provided there are free spaces.
