Campus as a Stage After Work: Theatre and Live Music at the Science Garden

Come and spend atmospheric evenings on campus! The aim of the Campus as a Stage After Work events is to bring the campuses to life even after working and studying days. The program includes music, theater and good company. After Work events are generally held on the last Wednesday of every month. We welcome students and staff as well as all other residents and visitors from the Oulu area looking for cultural experiences.

5:00–6:00 pm: The Student Theatre of Oulu’s improvisation group Impronium: Sytyttääkö hääsykkyrät??

The After Work event gets off to a lively start when the the Student Theatre of Oulu brings the improvised comedy “Sytyttääkö hääsykkyrät??” to the stage.

6:00–7:00 pm: Professoribändi: Shellfish Graveyard

The evening is crowned by Professoribändi, which cuts loose with an energetic, springtime rock set with Shellfish Graveyard. A perfect ending to an After Work evening!

Location: Botanical Garden of the University of Oulu, Science Garden (Kaitoväylä 5). Guidance is provided from the parking area to the garden courtyard, and in case of rain the event will move indoors. The event is free of charge and open to all.

Welcome to enjoy culture on campus! We recommend maximizing the fun: bring your own picnic snacks and your funniest colleagues or friends.

In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, the purpose of which is to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to the everyday life of our campuses and to a wider audience. The event includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
