This November, the University of Oulu’s Saalastinsali will be filled with the sounds of dance music as the student choir TeeKu, Teekkaritorvet, and the Oulu University Chamber Orchestra come together for the Villasukkatanssiaiset (Woolly Sock Ball). The evening will feature dance music from a variety of genres performed by all three ensembles, guaranteeing a lively atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to dance the night away.

So slip into your finest woolly socks and join us for a cosy evening of live music and dancing on Wednesday, 25 November, at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Psst! If you want to start your evening a bit earlier, go first see the performance of the Student Theatre of Oulu at 17.00 in Agora hall.

In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, which aims to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to everyday life on our campuses and to a wider audience. The series includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
