Campus as a Stage: Culture Lunches - Samba train Kontinkangas

This time, the culture lunch is a little different, as Teekkaritorvet takes you on a samba train through the Kontinkangas campus at lunchtime. The samba train will starts its journey from the lobby of the campus' main building (Aapistie 5A) at 11.30 am and travel outside along the Aapistie road to the other end of the campus, ending in Tellus Kontinkangas area (Aapistie 7A).

Weather check: in case of bad weather, the samba train cannot travel outside and instead Teekkaritorvet will play samba music first in the lobby of the main building and then in the Tellus Kontinkangas Stage.

The idea of the Culture Lunches is to bring cultural experiences to surprising and unexpected situations, such as during rush hour at the lunch restaurant. Several interest societies under the University of Oulu Student Union participate in enriching everyday meal times on our campuses with both music and theater. Check out the exact event times, when and in which restaurant the culture lunch will take place, and head that way for lunch!

In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, the purpose of which is to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to the everyday life of our campuses and to the wider public. The series includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
