The Green Knight – screening and discussion event
The University of Oulu’s own Jarkko Toikkanen and Andrew Pattison will host a screening of The Green Knight (2021). The event takes place at the Oulu Film Centre (Valve) and will feature a short discussion in which Pattison and Toikkanen explore the film through their research backgrounds in medieval literature and horror studies, respectively.

The Green Knight is a modern retelling of the 14th-century poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Gawain – a knight of King Arthur’s round table – unwittingly makes a bargain with a ghostly green knight. The story follows Gawain as he struggles to uphold his end of the bargain without losing his knightly honor.
