This programme is ideal if you:

Are starting your traineeship this summer (especially in MSMEs)

Want hands-on experience with real use cases

Are looking to build projects you can showcase in your portfolio
Eligibility

Current student at the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at University of Oulu
-
Able to attend all sessions during the programme
-
You do not have a concurrent employment relation during the Growth Hack Programme

How it works

You’ll receive more information about your challenge, evaluation criteria, project priorities during the kick-off

Work in teams to develop a conceptual solution (prototype is not required)

Present your idea to experts on the final day
Selected ideas may move forward with funding for:

Summer development
-
Usability testing (June 2nd at the International Picnic Day)

Showcasing at events like Researcher’s Night in September
Some example of challenges (*more information in the registration form)

Build an AR mobile app or online platform to share plant information, blooming calendars, and upcoming events
-
Design an interactive visitor experience using QR codes, scent effects, or soundscapes triggered by sensors or timing
-
Modernize the existing Java-based database and ensure compatibility with Unikko
-
A prototype for identifying leaf-eating pests (beetles, weevils, snails etc.) with for example, machine vision.
-
A machine vision-based system to monitor ant behavior and population density. For example, putting cameras inside a natural ant colony or an ant farm (artificial nest).
-
An automated system that incorporates motion sensing and machine vision for identifying and studying insect species, commonly known as AMI (automatic monitoring of insects).
