Off to the North! Pegasus Library Film Festival: Human Nature (2022)

As a part of the Campus as a Stage After Work events, the Off to the North! Pegasus Library Film Festival offers perspectives on the intersections of northern nature and culture as well as the unique phenomena of the north. At the film screenings, expert guests will be present to offer insights on the theme and subject of each film.

After Work film screening: Human Nature
Wednesday 4.2. at 17:00 in Pegasus Library's Maisemasali (3rd floor)

Directed by Bart Schrijver, Human Nature (Netherlands, 2022) begins with our protagonist Sophie’s need to be completely alone, free from the pressures of everyday life. Sophie decides to hike 500 kilometers through North Cape all the way to Kilpisjärvi. Along the way, she faces many challenges, not least the emotional baggage she carries from home.

Note! The event is prohibited for those under 18 years of age, as the film is not age-rated.

The film screening will feature expert guest Roger Norum, professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Oulu.

Free entrance. Seats cannot be reserved, the first 60 people will be admitted.

In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, the purpose of which is to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to the everyday life of our campuses and to the wider public. The series includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
