Location
The public lecture will present cohort research and its findings, explained by the researchers themselves. The presentation languages are Finnish and English. In addition, during the birthday celebration of the 40- and 60-year cohorts, we will celebrate the participants’ outstanding contribution to health research.
There will be an opportunity to learn more about cohort data collection, meet the cohort center staff, and engage with researchers from the University of Oulu who have used the data in their studies.
The public lecture will be livestreamed on the University of Oulu’s YouTube channel, and a direct link will be added to this page a few days before the event.

At the University of Oulu, the Northern Finland Birth Cohort studies have been following population health and wellbeing for over 60 years. In 2026–2027, individuals born in 1966 who are part of the study will be invited to participate in a new extensive follow-up data collection, which will collect comprehensive information about their health, factors influencing health, and healthy ageing.
