CRYO-RI project, funded by Research Council of Finland, develops research infrastructure to monitor the rapid changes in snow, ice, and frozen ground in Northern Finland.

We are building a research platform with measurement infrastructure and open data accessible to public and private sectors. We work with state-of-the art equipment, and go beyond by developing new IoT, remote sensing and big data methods for snow, ice and frost research.

Stakeholders are now warmly welcome to explore our laboratory’s equipment and research services!

Open House will take place on December 17, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00.

Arrival

Our laboratory is located in room BK130, right next to entrance J as shown on the map. We recommend arriving by public transport. If you come by car, please check the university’s parking options in advance.
