Tourism is growing, internationalizing, and rapidly transforming regions. How should tourism be developed so that the benefits are widely distributed, seasons become more balanced, and locals can also enjoy a good quality of life in tourist destinations?
At the university's Ydin space, the discussion will focus on how tourism regions can build success together. Is the key to the future in competition or partnership? How can year-round tourism be strengthened through regional cooperation? And how can tourism growth be made sustainable for both visitors and local communities?
During the evening, the future of tourism will be examined from the perspectives of the Oulu region, Lapland, and the whole of Northern Finland. The event will seek solutions to questions that affect an increasing number of regions in Finland and around the world.
