The Academy of Finland grants funding for multidisciplinary research infrastructure at the Centre for Material Analysis

The Academy of Finland has granted nearly 1,4 million euros to the Centre for Material Analysis at the University of Oulu to strengthen regional research and development activities.
The multidisciplinary infrastructure can be utilised in various fields such as biomedical, battery and catalyst development, microelectronics, steel research and hydrogen technology.

The funded research infrastructure projects intend to promote regional vitality and ambitious R&D activities. Therefore, the funding has been allocated to research organisations engaging in high-level applied research. Learn more

The three-year AMPEERI project, which will start at the beginning of 2026, will develop facilities and processes to fabricate and analyse new type of biomedical and microelectronics sensors. This infrastructure is a multidisciplinary platform that can be utilized in various fields of science and technology. The project will procure, install and start-up thin film fabrication devices, nanoscale 3D printer and in situ -electron microscope. The foremost scientific fields are biomedical, battery and catalyst development, microelectronics, steel research and hydrogen technology. This research infrastructure will be used by many local companies in their R&D&I work.
