August highlights from the University of Oulu’s 2026 culture programme

Discover art on campus

Explore the University’s art collection of more than 900 works through guided tours. Finnish-language tours are available on 11, 22 and 25 August, and the English-language tour takes place on 29 August. You can sign up for the art tours here.

You can also visit an exhibition by Oulu-based artist Ilkka Korhonen at the Linnanmaa campus from 3 to 28 August during campus opening hours.

Storytelling over lunch

On 19 August, members of the Student Theatre of Oulu will bring stories and fairy tales to life during a Campus as a Stage culture lunch at Restaurant Medisiina on the Kontinkangas campus. The event takes place from 11:30 to 12:00.

Theatre and music at After Work

The Campus as a Stage After Work event on 26 August combines theatre and music in Agora at the Linnanmaa campus. The programme starts at 16:00 with performances by the Student Theatre of Oulu, followed by a concert by the Oulu University Chamber Orchestra at 17:00. Admission is free.
