Culture House Moodi – A new gathering spot for students in Teknologiakylä.

Need a break, new friends, creative outlets, or support in your daily life? Culture House Moodi provides students an easy-to-access space to connect with others, try new activities, and strengthen well-being through communal and creative activities.

Moodi is a safe space, living room, and community designed for those aged 18–35, where you can join creative and active groups or simply spend time, for example, over a cup of coffee. The activity aims to support students in everyday life, studies, and the transition to working life. Moodi operates in Teknologiakylä at Teknologiantie 9D and is open from Tuesday to Friday. All activities are free and substance-free.

Current Activities at Moodi

Moodi is currently hosting various groups. The schedule for the rest of the year includes:

• Craft skills, such as Wool Socks Group

• Well-being workshops for students

• Lounge activities led by peer leaders, known as vertsikat

Moodi is open to collaboration. The Oulu Anarchist Martyrs have participated in Moodi’s activities, and this collaboration will continue beyond the new year.

Moodi also collaborates with the Prikka project and provides free surplus food every other Friday. The last surplus food session of 2025 will take place on 12.12. Come join us for good company and free food. It’s recommended to bring your own container to pack food for the weekend. Activities will restart at the beginning of 2026.

The current schedule at Moodi runs until 12.12., but the premises will remain open until 19.12. A new schedule will start on 12.1.2026, and it will be announced later on Moodi’s social media channels.

Peer Activities and Training Opportunities to Become a Peer Leader

Community and peer support are at the heart of Moodi’s activities. Students can also choose to participate as peer leaders. Peer leader training provides participants with skills to lead groups, an opportunity to do meaningful voluntary work, and experience beneficial for studies and future employment. A certificate is awarded upon completion, and no prior experience is required. The next training will be held in spring 2026. Peer leader training is conducted in Finnish.
