Emil Aaltonen Foundation finances two studies at the University of Oulu
The foundation distributes more than 6 million euros in grants annually.
At its meeting on 24 November 2022, the board of the Emil Aaltonen Foundation awarded eleven project grants of 200,000 euros to different disciplines. Two of the funds went to the University of Oulu:
Docent Sylvester Eriksson-Bique
Mathematics and data processing
Funding of the Northern Finland quasi-world network research group

In the first round of the two-stage application process, 342 applications were submitted to the foundation, from which 27 applications were selected for the second application round.
