DSc (Econ.) Timo Pohjosenperä works in the Unit of Marketing, Management, and International Business. His title of docent is in sustainable logistics and supply chain management. The docentship supports teaching on distribution channels in the Bachelor’s Programme in the business school, as well as the cross-cutting theme of sustainable supply chain management in the Master’s Programme in Sustainable Marketing. The field highlights the crucial role of supply chains in shaping the kinds of marketing promises that companies can credibly make and deliver on.

The docentship of DSc (Econ.) Fatima Khitous, who works at MMI, centers on understanding how stakeholders co-create value within circular economy ecosystems. It explores how diverse actors can leverage circular economy principles – such as reducing, reusing, and recycling – to create economic value alongside environmental and social benefits. By acknowledging the complexities, tensions, and paradoxes inherent in circular economy transitions, this body of work offers insights and pathways for academics, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to foster more sustainable and regenerative futures.

Dsc (Econ.) Fan Wang from the Martti Ahtisaari Institute was awarded docentship in Business Analytics, specialising in Health Innovation. Her docent demonstration lecture addressed the definition and types of health innovation, its multidisciplinary nature, and data-driven ecosystems, and presented three practical examples to illustrate innovations in technology, processes, and business models, and services at the healthcare pathway level.

DSc (Econ.) Tamara Galkina works at the Aalto University School of Business. She was awarded the title of docent in new business creation and international entrepreneurship. In her docent lecture, Galkina discussed entrepreneurial decision-making in the context of global megatrends. She illustrated the concept of uncertainty, the differences between entrepreneurial and managerial reasoning, and the key principles of effectuation and causation.

DSc (Econ.) Noora Jansson, who works at Oulu University of Applied Sciences, was awarded the title of docent in strategy and change. In her docent lecture, “Leading organizational change”, she explored change from both theoretical and practical perspectives through three lenses: change as tensions, as a process, and as dialogue. Her lecture drew on two public-sector case studies to illustrate the challenges and practices of managing change.
