Flaire project is looking for Beta testers for a new DSM Data Platform
Information about the research and beta test
The purpose of the study is to conduct a beta test on the Sähköjälki information platform. The platform has been implemented in Finnish and English, but beta testing and related communications will be carried out in English. Main features of the experiment are a browser-based info page that gives the user information about the energy system's current conditions and short-term predictions. On the page, there is a forecast chart that shows the CO2 emissions per kWh, the share of renewables, and the share of domestic generation. Use this information to plan your electricity use, for example, shift consumption to times when electricity is cleaner and more renewable. During the beta test period, the beta test group members will receive a few reminder emails related to the energy system's current condition.
In the beta test, we invite the testers to:
- Test the functionality and usefulness of the system
- Respond to a survey during the beta test period
- Participate in an anonymous webinar, which will be held at the end of the trial for feedback, Q&A, and chat. The webinar will be held using Zoom.
Apply for the beta testing group

Recruitment of beta testers will continue until 9.3. The beta testing period will last one month and take place 16.3-13.4.
Information about the Flaire project
Flaire -Fair, flexible, and socially resilient energy system, is a six-year Strategic Research Council project. The project aims to study the use of demand side management (DSM) solutions to households and communities to further decarbonize the Finnish energy system. DSM refers to a wide range of actions that can be taken at the customer side of the electricity market to reduce the overall energy consumption and to adjust energy consumption in response to peak period network congestion or high electricity prices. Read more about DSM on the project’s webpage. The Sähköjälki information platform is a web-based information platform for demand side management (DSM), developed by the project's work package 1 team.
