Go on exchange in Europe!

How about spending the next autumn or spring term studying in one of our partner universities? Next application round for Erasmus+ exchanges during Academic Year 2024-25 will be organised on February 1-29, 2024.

Exchange studies are an excellent way to gain international experience. Many students who have come back from their exchange have reported it to be one of the best experiences of their life. According to studies, exchange period increases one's curiosity, productivity and perseverance, which especially employers value a lot.

As an exchange student, you have a chance to choose courses which are not available at the University of Oulu. Studies completed during the exchange will be included in your degree, which means going on exchange will not delay your studies. On the opposite, the courses you have picked during your exchange can even be a way to stand out or find a whole new study path!

The Erasmus+ programme allows you to go on exchange for 3-12 months, i.e. for one semester or even for the whole academic year. The Erasmus+ agreements are field specific, meaning they concern either a field of studies or Faculty or Degree Programme. Find our more information from your faculty international coordinator.

Each student going on exchange through Erasmus+ will receive a monthly grant. In addition, students with families can get an extra grant. If you are eligible to get Kela money, there is a top-up to student financial aid for those studying abroad.
