Helka-Liisa Hentilä will chair the University Collegium, Lotta Leinonen is vice-chair

The new University Collegium elected its leadership.

At its meeting on 13 January 2022, the new Collegium of the University of Oulu has elected Professor Helka-Liisa Hentilä as its Chairperson and Lotta Leinonen, a Bachelor of Business Administration, as its Vice Chairperson, both after a vote. The University Collegium has unanimously invited Elina Rossi, a research support specialist, to be its secretary.

“My own expectations and hopes are that the interaction within the University Collegium and the interaction with the rest of the university community and stakeholders would be constructive, but also goal-oriented and develop the activities of the university. In a way, the Collegium is the guarantor of the quality of operations and the ‘barometer’ of the university community, but also the maker of significant decisions that affect the future of the university,” says Helka-Liisa Hentilä.

The Collegium of University of Oulu is a 24-member body in which 8 members represent professors, 8 represent other teachers, researchers, as well as other staff and 8 represent students.

The role of the Collegium is, among other things, to confirm the university's financial statements and annual report, and to decide on the number of members of the Board of Directors and length of term.
