International students can apply financial social assistance

The war in Ukraine has hampered international payment traffic. The situation may cause difficulties for Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian students studying in Finland.

They are eligible to apply for financial social assistance from the Finnish state. Kela evaluates applications and makes decisions.

In Finland, those accepted to study here are treated equally with all other students and citizens.
