Join the Ask Me! campaign – let's welcome our new students together

Do you still remember what it felt like to start university? When your head was full of questions, and you weren’t always sure who to turn to? After a successful launch last year, the Ask Me! campaign is returning to the University of Oulu this autumn. The campaign aims to make it easier for new students to ask questions and seek help whenever they need it.

During the Ask Me! campaign, new students are encouraged to reach out to more experienced students and staff for help and advice. You don’t need to know all the answers – all it takes is a willingness to stop for a moment, listen, and look for an answer together.

Taking part is easy

By wearing an Ask Me! badge, you let others know that you're happy to answer questions. You'll find a list of frequently asked questions and useful tips about student services on the Ask Me! campaign page. Many of the things new students wonder about are everyday matters for the rest of us, such as where to find a lecture hall or how to use the photocopier.

As a thank-you for participating, students will receive an Ask Me! overall patch in this autumn's new colours. Pick up your Ask Me! badge and overall patch at one of the campaign stands. If you still have your badge from last autumn, you're welcome to use it again this year. Or stop by one of our stands to check out this autumn's new campaign items:

You can also pick up an Ask Me! badge and overall patch from the stand outside the scheduled service hours.

Week 35 (24–28 Aug) Ask Me! badges and overall patches will be available throughout Orientation Week at the new student welcome desk in the green coat racks area.

Wed 2 Sep, 11:00–13:00 Career Centre

Campaign period: 1 August – 30 September 2026. Wear your badge whenever it suits you. After the campaign, badges can be returned to collection boxes on campus. The campaign is recognized by the pink Ask Me! logo.

The Ask Me! campaign is organized by the Learning Support and Wellbeing Centre. It is inspired by the international Ask Me! campaign, previously implemented in Finland at the University of Helsinki.
