The new AVD remote desktop service is available to you

The university’s AVD environment (Azure Virtual Desktop) runs on the Microsoft Azure cloud service. The service consists of virtual servers operated by the university’s ICT Services. The AVD service will replace remote Salava desktops used by students, which will go out of service on Monday 31 January.

You can use AVD remote desktops without VPN connection:

  • You need a working internet connection and a web browser that supports the service (MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox or Safari).
  • Alternatively, you can install Microsoft Remote Desktop Client on your Windows or MacOS computer and use it to access AVD remote desktops.

Log in to AVD service with your university´s O365 username and also identify with MFA, e.g. multi-factor authentication by your phone.
