NUNAMED2025 as a meeting platform for Arctic healthy ageing researchers

The Nordic AHA Communities project took part in the triennial conference NUNAMED2025 in Nuuk, Greenland, on 3-5 October 2025.

This year’s NUNAMED2025 conference theme Education and Future brought together over 400 health and well-being researchers, professional and educators to explore how education can improve health outcomes across the Arctic region.

The project members convened the session on Outdoor environment and healthy ageing in the Nordic Arctic region. The session presented the first results of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Nordic Arctic Programme funded project “Arctic Healthy Aging communities: Safe and inclusive outdoor environment and public spaces” as well as hosted guest speakers from Denmark/Greenland with discussion on accessibility issues and healthy ageing in Sisimiut. The project also introduced and shared with others its new leaflet.

The project runs in the Arctic Health research group, Research Unit of Biomedicine and Internal Medicine.
