Results of the Funding Call: Field-Specific Doctoral Courses and Other Activities in 2026

The University of Oulu’s internal funding call for field-specific doctoral courses and other activities supporting doctoral training was open from 8 December 2025 to 11 January 2026. In total, 31 activities received funding.

The University of Oulu’s internal funding call for field-specific doctoral courses and other activities supporting doctoral training was open from 8 December 2025 to 11 January 2026. A total of 200,000 € was available, with 50,000 € allocated to each doctoral programme committee.

During the application period, a total of 36 applications were received. The doctoral education committees of each doctoral programme evaluated the applications in meetings held 20–22 January 2026. The evaluation focused particularly on the relevance, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the proposed activities. Funding was awarded to field-specific courses, workshops, and events primarily targeted at doctoral researchers at the University of Oulu. In total, 31 activities received funding.

Additional Funding Calls in 2026

An additional funding call will be held 2 March–1 April 2026. Funding is still available for the following doctoral programme committees: Human Sciences (8,863 €), Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (16,610 €), and Technology and Natural Sciences (23,824 €)

If funding remains unallocated, a second additional call will be opened in August 2026.
