Survey on commuting between home and campus 2026

University of Oulu is conducting a survey to map the commuting habits of students and staff between their homes and the campus. This survey is part of the university’s carbon footprint calculation and the implementation of its real estate strategy. The survey is anonymous, and no precise address details are requested.

The survey was previously conducted in 2022, with the aim of understanding commuting habits following the pandemic. You can view the report on the Carbon Footprint Working Group’s website.

To calculate the university-level carbon footprint and refine the implementation of the real estate strategy, it is important to re-evaluate the daily commuting practices of the university’s students and personnel.

The University of Oulu’s Premises and Security Services, in collaboration with Ramboll Ltd, are responsible for processing the survey results. The response period for the survey ends on November 6, 2026. Completing the survey takes approximately 3–5 minutes. You can access the survey here.
