Sustainability Studies Network: Extended selection of courses on offer as cross-institutional studies

Would you like to study sustainability-themed courses from other Finnish higher education institutions?

University of Oulu is a member of Sustainability Studies Network (SSN) that consists of thirteen higher education institutions. It offers courses related to sustainability, responsibility and environment themes for the member institutions’ degree, doctoral, and exchange students. The network offers basic, intermediate, and advanced courses. Thanks to Aalto University and Turku University of Applied Sciences that joined the network recently, the SSN course selection is now even more extensive than before.

The Sustainability Studies Network does not use application periods anymore. You can enroll on most of the SSN courses in Peppi through the cross-institutional study service. The courses provided by the University of Jyväskylä are an exception: Enrollment takes place by completing a form that is on the network’s website in the section of the University of Jyväskylä.

Take a closer look at the course selection and study guidelines on the website of the Sustainability Studies Network. Instructions of the University of Oulu for cross-institutional studying are here.

You can include courses from the Sustainability Studies Network, for example in the Sustainable Development Minor: Please check the courses that can be included from the minor's study guide page. If you want to include courses of the network in another study module in your degree, please discuss with your education designer or tutor teacher.
