University of Oulu to begin research visits with Cambridge University
According to the five-year agreement, one researcher from the University of Oulu´s centre for multidisciplinary research, Eudaimonia, can spend six months annually at the University of Cambridge.
During their visit, the researcher gains valuable research experience and has the opportunity to network with top-tier scientists. The agreement encompasses at least one lecture in Cambridge, as well as the chance to produce publications and engage in project collaboration. The selected researcher becomes a permanent member of the college, allowing them to return for extended periods after their visit.
The first call for applications will be announced this spring.
Cambridge is renowned for its exceptional academic environment. Clare Hall, a fully research-focused and interdisciplinary college, is one of the 31 colleges at the University of Cambridge. Known for its informal atmosphere, Clare Hall also hosts a significant number of foreign visiting researchers.
This recently established agreement further supports Oulu University’s internationalization efforts and commitment to interdisciplinary research.
Notably, Professor Jouni-Matti Kuukkanen from Oulu University has previously visited Clare Hall, and Senior Research Fellow Heini Hakosalo is currently working there.
