The University of Oulu is recruiting five deans and six education deans
Deans are responsible for leading the operations of the faculty. They are in charge of managing the faculty’s tasks in an economical, efficient, and effective manner, implementing the university’s strategy, personnel planning, and budgeting within the faculty, as well as overseeing the faculty’s quality management. The dean also chairs the faculty board and appoints the faculty education committee to support the quality and development of education.
Education dean leads the faculty’s educational activities and is responsible for the faculty’s education, its effectiveness, and quality management. The education dean serves as the chair of the faculty’s education committee and acts as the faculty’s vice dean.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree and have the necessary education, professional skills, and leadership abilities required for the role. Fluency in both Finnish and English is required.
The term of office for all deans and education deans is four years, commencing on 1 January 2026. Applications must be submitted via the Varbi recruitment system no later than 30 July 2025.
