Is your eduvpn-profile getting old this week?

The OpenVPN Connect client need a user specific eduvpn-profile to work. The profile is valid for two (2) years. Once the profile has expired, the OpenVPN client will no longer open the connection, but will issue an error message “Authentication Failed”.

If you are using the OpenVPN Connect client, you should check when you created your personal profile. Most created it quite exactly two (2) years ago.

Create a new profile no later than when its age approaches two years!

  1. Create the new eduvpn-profile in the service At the same time, remove your old profile from the service.
  2. After creating a new profile, bring it to OpenVPN client on your computer. Remove your old profile also from OpenVPN.
