Project description

The DIGIRAKE project investigates how digitalization influences productivity in the construction industry, with a special focus on the Northern Finland context. While digital tools and systems are often expected to improve efficiency, the real-world impact remains unclear and varies across sectors and business types. DIGIRAKE aims to clarify the relationship between digital transformation and productivity outcomes in planning, building, and maintenance phases of construction.

The project maps both the perceived and actual benefits and challenges of digital adoption, providing insights that help companies avoid common pitfalls in implementing new technologies. The project strengthens the knowledge base for both academic research and practical decision-making, supporting innovation and competitiveness in a traditionally low-productivity sector.
