Research group description
Activation of sympathetic nervous system is connected to protective processes induced by hypothermia. On the other hand, prolonged sympathetic stimulus typical for chronic illnesses, such as cardiovascular diseases, leads to pathological changes in cells and tissues. Our studies clarify mechanisms behind beneficial and deleterious effects of acute and chronic stress.
