Research group description
The Process Modelling and Synthesis research focus area in Chemical Process Engineering (CPE) research unit focuses on the following research activities:
- Phenomena-based predictive process modelling especially in the fields of separation processes. Examples include predictive membrane process models and robust numerical model solving strategies.
- Integration of novel predictive computational tools to improve the methodologies applied in the process systems engineering domain, such as combining systematic computational solvent screening and conceptual process design.
These tools are applied to understand the phenomena prevailing in the processes and to design novel process configurations for biorefineries. The process modelling research is integrated together with the experimental work conducted in other research focus areas of CPE research unit.
