The Doctoral Programme in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine gives postgraduate education in the fields of Cell and Molecular Biology, Developmental biology, Molecular Medicine, Molecular Genetics, Population Genetics, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics, Biobusiness and Bioethics. The doctoral programme in the Oulu Business School (OBS) covers the following disciplines of the school’s curriculum: accounting, economics, finance, international business, management, and marketing.
The OBS doctoral degree programme provides its students with thorough and systematic training and supervision with the goal of generating profound business competence that can be used both in high-quality research in academic careers, and in varied expert positions outside academia. The studies allow developing capabilities of generating new and relevant knowledge, as well as integrating and applying knowledge across business disciplines, and gaining good professional communication skills.
The OBS doctoral training involves collaboration with the other faculties at the University of Oulu and with national doctoral programmes. Often, the students have the possibility to connect to joint projects where research involves interaction with varied organizations in both private and public sectors. The students are encouraged to engage in international cooperation and networking, and study and do research outside Finland. Research visits are facilitated by the networks built during the doctoral studies and through collaborative consortia like SCANCOR.

The doctoral research conducted in the Doctoral Programme in Science is part of the internationally high-level and impactful research of the Faculty of Science, which is based on long-term commitment, dynamism, and extensive collaboration networks.
