Amila Perera is a researcher affiliated with the Centre for Wireless Communications, University of Oulu. His research focuses on Zero-Energy Internet of Things (ZE-IoT), Visible Light Communication (VLC), optical wireless communication, and energy-autonomous IoT systems, with an emphasis on low-power electronic circuit design and sustainable, battery-free solutions.
He holds a Doctor of Science (Tech.) degree in Communications Engineering and an M.Sc. degree in Wireless Communications Engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Peradeniya. Prior to his doctoral studies, he gained industry experience at Dialog Axiata and Nokia Networks.
