Professor Burak Turhan’s research lies at the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence. He is a Full Professor of Software Engineering and leads the M3S research unit, contributing to large-scale collaborative research in software-intensive systems.
His work focuses on empirically studying real-world software development, including technical and human factors, to develop an evidence-based understanding of software engineering practices. Grounded in empirical methods and industrial data, his research spans fundamental and applied studies aimed at improving software quality, reliability, and development effectiveness. The work is carried out in close collaboration with industry and public partners, supporting technology transfer and societal impact.
