Jamal Ahmadi
MSc in Chemical Engineering
Water, Energy and Environmental Engineering
Faculty of Technology
Jamal holds an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). He has several years of research and practical experience in industrial wastewater treatment, with a particular focus on ceramic membrane fabrication, characterization, and fouling behavior. He is currently a doctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, working on nature-based and passive treatment approaches for mining-impacted waters, including the use of reactive materials and permeable reactive barriers. His current research is conducted within projects such as ProWater, as part of which his work focuses on the utilization of industrial by-products as reactive materials for the treatment of mining-impacted waters and the restoration of environments affected by mining activities.
Research interests
- Nature-Based Solutions (NBS)
- Mining-affected water (NMD and AMD)
- Passive treatment systems
