I have graduated with Master of Science (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) and Doctor of Medical Sciences from University of Oulu (MD, PhD). While I am a specialist in clinical neurophysiology, my focus lies in research, supported by the Research Council of Finland, exploring interdisciplinary approaches to neurological disorders. In addition to my academic work at the University of Oulu, I am dedicated to advancing the intersection of medicine and technology. Looking ahead, I aim to further integrate my expertise to drive innovation in neuroscience and computational medicine.

My research focuses on various brain diseases, with a particular emphasis on physiological brain activity in different states, such as epilepsy, narcolepsy, dementia, sleep, and sleep apnea. The primary goal of this research is to understand baseline brain activity, which will aid in the development of more sensitive and specific disease markers and treatments.

For my research, we utilize the fast functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) called Magnetic Resonance Encephalography (MREG), near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and electroencephalography (EEG) in novel multimodal scanning environment.
