Mariella Särestöniemi  is an Adjunct Professor and a 6GESS researcher with the research units of Medical Imaging, Physics and Technology, Faculty of Medicine and Centre for Wireless Communications, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering

She is working in 6G Enabling Sustainable Society (6GESS) project investigating new wireless, energy-efficient diagnosis and monitoring solutions for future's wireless hospital.  Her research interests include wireless medical monitoring and diagnosis, medical ICT, body area networks, in-body, on-body, and off-body channel modelling as well as detection of abnormalities in the tissues using multimodal techniques.
