I am a postdoctoral researcher in archaeology at the University of Oulu. My main research interests include gender, gender relations and roles (especially the role of women) and childhood in past and recent societies. Currently, I am the PI of the contemporary archaeology research project that investigates logging camps and the environmental impacts of logging in northern Finland between 1900-1960 (funded by Kone Foundation). Within this project I study the lives of women and children in lumber camps.
