Nicholas Larsen

Doctoral researcher within the Space Climate Research Unit. I study the space weather impacts of cosmic rays and solar energetic particles that interact with the Earth, in particular the increased exposure to radiation they can create. I am currently working on the QUASARE (QUAntification of Spectral and Angular characteristics of extreme Solar eRuptive Events) project. My research on the project involves using data from the worldwide neutron monitor network, spacecraft measurements, and the Univerisity of Oulu's own ground level enchancement (GLE) database to test modern cosmic ray radiation models. In addition to this, I am working on developing a fexible tool for conducting magnetospheric computations using modern methods and models.
