Ninha (Wnurinham) Silva

Ninha Silva

Ninha Silva holds a BA in Journalism from University of Coimbra (Portugal), a MA in International Relations from University of Westminster (UK) and a MSc in Public Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK).

Ninha is currently a Doctoral Researcher at the Research Unit of Population Health. As part of her PhD, Ninha investigates outcomes (i.e cognition, mental health) of term born children with preterm born siblings and the impact of preterm birth on parents' subsequent pregnancies. Through use of longitudinal data from the EU Child Cohort Network and from the Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) from the Matlab district, in Bangladesh, Ninha hopes to contribute to this research field with strong methodological and statistical evidence.

Ninha also teaches in the International Master of Epidemiology and Biomedical Data Science programme.

Before joining University of Oulu, Ninha worked as project manager at Imperial College London for several years.
