Saqib Amin is an applied health economist at the University of Oulu, working at the intersection of data science, public health, and spatial econometrics. His research analyzes multi-year population data across 300+ Finnish municipalities to address critical challenges in mental health epidemiology, socio-economic risk factors, and health inequality. His work is published in leading international journals, including the European Journal of Health Economics, Social Indicators Research, Health Economics, Policy and Law, and Sustainable Development.
An international scholar and two-time I.S.E.O. Fellow (Italy, 2025/2026), he has collaborated on advanced macroeconomic policy alongside Nobel Laureates Robert C. Merton, Michael Spence, and James Heckman. He holds an MPhil, MA, and MBA, and serves as an active reviewer for international journals and a member of the European Economic Association.
