Somayeh Karandish Marvasti

Somayeh Karandish Marvasti is a PhD researcher in Process Engineering at the University of Oulu, working in the Fibre and Particle Engineering Research Unit. She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from leading universities in Iran, and a second Master’s degree in Sustainable Chemistry from the University of Oulu, Finland.

Her doctoral research focuses on hydrogen production from a geological perspective, with an emphasis on recreating natural hydrogen-generating reactions in the laboratory. With a solid background in chemistry and further specialization in sustainability, green chemistry, and hydrometallurgy, she brings a unique perspective by linking chemical expertise with engineering approaches to energy research.
