Stephanie L. Musy

I am a researcher in the Digital Waters Flagship, specializing in environmental tracers, groundwater dating, hydrogeochemistry, and tracer-aided hydrological modelling. My background spans hydrogeology, geothermics, and climate science.

My research combines isotopic, geochemical and microbial tracers with integrated surface–subsurface models to resolve groundwater flow, residence times and water–rock interactions across alluvial, volcanic, deep, boreal and permafrost systems, with a focus on water resources under anthropogenic pressure and climate change.

Research interests

  • Environmental tracers and isotope hydrology
  • Groundwater dating and residence-time distributions
  • Noble gases and radioactive noble-gas tracers
  • Groundwater flow and mixing processes
  • Hydrogeochemistry and water–rock interactions
  • Groundwater in boreal and permafrost environments
  • Integrated tracer–hydrological modelling
  • Groundwater resources under climate and environmental change
