In my current position, I act as a research manager and handle project finances and human resources. I am involved in a multitude of diverse international projects.

During my training and professional career, I have had adventures in studying the following research areas:

  • biophysics of cooperative ion channel gating
  • molecular biology research with the beta-globin gene locus regulation
  • biochemistry and matrix biology research on lung wound healing
  • translational research and bioinformatics of acute lung injury

Being at the University of Oulu has given me a chance to get involved in research management on multiple levels, and with the wide network of Prof. Seppo Vainio, I have been introduced to diverse research fields with collaborators in Finland and abroad.
