Thushan Sivalingam (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree (Hons.) specializing in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2015, the double M.Sc. (Tech.) degree in wireless communication from the University of Oulu, Finland, and the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2019, and the D.Sc. (Tech.) degree with distinction from the Center for Wireless Communication, University of Oulu, Finland, in 2025. He was a Planning Engineer for access network planning with Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka, from 2015 to 2018. His research interests include deep learning-based efficient and fast access methods for mMTC, grant-free NOMA, THz sensing, and semantic communications. He won first place in the CWC-Doctoral Thesis Pitch Competition in 2024. He served as a Technical Program Committee Member for the IEEE-VTC, IEEE-ANTS, and IEEE-INFOCOM conferences.
