Timo Jämsä is Professor in Medical Technology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu, since 2002. He received his MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Technology, University of Oulu, and PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu in 1981 and 1998, respectively. Prof. Jämsä is specialized in Biomedical Engineering (BME) and Medical Technology, as well as regional, national and international activities in the area. He has more than 40 years of experience in research and education in the field.
Research interests
- bone biomechanics, risk factors for falls and fractures, physical activity measurement, mHealth, wearables
