I mainly work on topics in the philosophy of mind and self in early modern philosophy. I have research interests also in metaphysics, epistemology, and historiography of philosophy.
I have worked at University of Jyväskylä and University of Helsinki before joining University of Oulu in 2021 and been a visiting researcher in Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Queensland, and Harvard University.
At the moment I am an Academy of Finland Research Fellow (2017-22) and director of an Academy of Finland project Thick Subjects: A Reconsideration of Early Modern Views of the Self (2020-25).
