Ying Liao
MSc
Doctoral researcher
I work as a doctoral researcher in the Geoinformatics Research Group within the Geography Research Unit. I have an interdisciplinary background in management, urban systems engineering, and social-ecological resilience. My research takes a transdisciplinary approach to exploring the spatio-temporal dynamics of social-ecological resilience to urban flooding. It combines GIS, Python, and qualitative methods to examine how human-nature interactions shape resilience and to predict future resilience trajectories.
I enjoy applying perspectives from different disciplines to my research, using multiple lenses to explore their synergies and differences. At the heart of my work lies a deep curiosity about the interconnectedness between humans and nature.
