Decision-making
The university has approximately 150 different decision making bodies and working groups through which the members of the university community have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the university's operations.
The highest decision-making body in the university is the Board, which has 11 members. The Board decides, for example, on the central goals, strategy, and direction of the university’s operations and economy.
The University Collegium is a body with 24 members. It decides, for example, on the size of the Board and the duration of its term and the terms of its members. The Collegium also confirms the financial statements and the annual report.
The university has approximately 150 different decision-making bodies and working groups through which the members of the university community have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the university's operations. Students elected as student representatives by the Student Union of University of Oulu can become student members of the working groups. There are over a hundred student representatives in the administration of the University of Oulu, and they have an influence in all areas of the university's administration, from the Board to the degree programme committees.
