Activities

We are responsible for marketing and international business management education at the Oulu Business School. Our teaching activities build on rigorous research in our focus areas. Local, national, and international collaboration with academics and practitioners supports relevance of our research and teaching.

Focus areas and research projects

The focus areas of MMI research include:

  • organizational change (e.g. strategizing, start-up and high-growth firms, public sector organizations and their transformation)
  • business marketing, networks and ecosystems (e.g. branding, orchestration, circular economy (CE), service design, public procurement, blockchain, resilience)
  • innovation management (e.g. public-private innovation, open innovation, value appropriation, technological change, sustainability)
  • international business (e.g. international entrepreneurship, agility, ethics)

Our research originates from topical phenomena in business life and society, and ongoing scientific debates in a diversity of disciplines offer us inspiration and direction.
